Skarn the Pestilent, The Bishop-King

Background: Skarn the Pestilent, known as the Bishop-King of Myrn'garl, is a massive, grotesquely obese wererat who commands the Ratfolk of Clan Xodd. Once a feared force on the surface world, Clan Xodd faded into obscurity following the War of the Three. However, under Skarn’s malevolent leadership, they have resurfaced, taking root in the ruined drow city of Torveil, now called Myrn'garl, which means "gutter city" in ancient drow.

Skarn's appearance is a reflection of his twisted soul. His enormous body is covered in matted fur, his eyes glint with malevolent intelligence, and his yellowed, sharp teeth are constantly bared in a sinister grin. His foul odor and the constant swarm of vermin around him make his presence unbearable to most. Yet, his physical repulsiveness belies his considerable power and cunning.

Skarn's rise to power began in the shadows. Born to a lowly family within Clan Xodd, he quickly realized that sheer strength and brutality were not enough to survive in the harsh world of the Underrealm. Embracing the dark arts, he became a cleric of disease and pestilence, channeling his unholy powers to gain control over his fellow wererats. His ruthless ambition and diabolic prowess led him to overthrow the previous leaders of Clan Xodd, installing himself as the Bishop King.

Under Skarn's rule, Clan Xodd migrated to the desolate ruins of Torveil. There, among the crumbling remnants of drow grandeur, Skarn established Myrn'garl, transforming the once-great city into a festering hive of corruption and decay. The Ratfolk of Clan Xodd thrived in this environment, their numbers swelling under Skarn's diabolic leadership.

Skarn's ambitions, however, extended far beyond the confines of Myrn'garl. Through his dark rituals and cunning diplomacy, he forged alliances with powerful figures in the Underrealm and beyond. He struck a pact with the Duergar of the Lost City of Kyzzar, led by the malevolent Lord Darth. This alliance, bolstered by Skarn's henchman, Rothusk the Verminous, a cunning and ruthless second-in-command, aimed to destabilize the surface realms and reestablish Clan Xodd and Clan Darth as legitimate power brokers in the perilous Northern Underrealm.

Their most significant ally is Lord Balor, a notorious surface world tyrant. Skarn's alliance with Balor is based on mutual benefit: Balor seeks to weaken his surface adversaries, while Skarn aims to extend his influence and spread his pestilent dominion. This axis of evil poses a formidable threat to the stability of the region.

Skarn the Pestilent's vision for Myrn'garl is one of absolute power and unrelenting corruption. His diabolic clerical abilities, combined with his strategic alliances, make him a force to be reckoned with. As the Bishop King, he commands his followers with an iron fist, perpetuating an era of darkness and despair in the Underrealm. His ultimate goal is to see Clan Xodd rise to unprecedented power, ruling over a kingdom of filth and fear where his malevolent influence is felt far and wide.
